1998 computer(PCM) may or may not need PATS, it was a pay extra option in 1998
1999/2000 will have PATS
There are no IDs for which ones have PATS on the PCM, might be available from original VIN the PCM came from

1998 - 2000 4.0l PCMs will be the same except for that, and there were 2 versions, one for manual trans and one for Automatic trans
2WD or 4x4 don't matter

Manual or automatic versions are coded in the last 2 or 3 digits of the part number, the digits after the 12A650
These also denote engine size and Calif. or Federal emissions
Therer is no decoder for these, but most wrecking yards have kept track of what numbers came from what vehicles

Thank for all your help. I had someone else from the ranger station send me a PCM last year but some idiot stole it from mailbox.
