On a 87 2.9 liter fuel injected is the ect located right above the thermostat and is the act sensor located on the passenger side of the intake manifold

i believe you are correct sir. if you are looking at the motor the ects will be the smaller one. with the threaded top. the other i believe controls the temp gauge. the ats does sit one the side of the intake manifold.

The ECT is the one with two wires for the computer and if your cleaning the ACT use rubbing alcohol or elect cleaner do not use solvent.
