If you have anything in that area, it is driving the oil pump, the newer blocks where the pump is directly behind the aux pulley don't have anything there, the cam sensor on those is on a plate behind that pulley. If I happen across my spare oil pump drive anytime soon I'll snap a picture, haven't looked if there's one in the extra '90 block I have...

Won’t be able to find it again anytime soon, but when I was researching timing belt replacement, I came across a thread talking about how the oil pump was crank driven for a while. My aux gear was quite free spinning.
 
Yes, all Lima engines have oil pumps driven by the aux pulley in one way or another, up to and including '94 the aux shaft had a gear on the end where a distributor would be then the distributor or pump drive would turn off of that gear then drive the oil pump. In '95 the oil pump moved to be driven directly by the auxiliary shaft right behind the pulley and didn't have the shaft that went down.

The point about checking the computer is a reasonable one to investigate. It may amount to nothing, but if you're willing to pop the cover off and spot check for leaking caps, it'll cost you nothing but time. I'm in the middle of dealing with that on another vehicle right now.
