Anyone ever had a misfire as a result of cheap spark plug wires?

yes, I forget what brand, but if it had rained and humidity was high the truck would hardly run. I had to flat-tow it home once from work after a rain. When I tried to start it in the barn later, you could see arcing all over. These were new wires and I went somewhere else and bought another set, problem solved. This was many years ago so have no idea what brand was junk. think the “better “ ones (second set) I got from napa

lifetime warranty really doesnt mean much, its a “ownership duration” warranty, meaning once the vehicle changes hands (ownership) the warranty isn’t valid. Its a marketing scheme, the thought behind it is that the vehicle went (for example) 60,000 miles on the last set of parts (weather its brakes, plug wires, alternator) and they are banking on the fact that by the next time it needs a certain part replaced it will be owned by someone else or you will have forgot it was a “lifetime “ part. Sure, some of us keep a car/truck for a really long time but some dont, I dont recall if my failed plug wires were lifetime, but since that set was crap, I sure didnt want another set of the same thing.

The lifetime warranty thing also usually only means the part is warrantied against defects not normal wear. For example some brake pads claim to have "lifetime warranties" but that doesn't mean you get a free set every time they wear out. You "might" get them replaced for free if something happened like the pad material seperating from the backing because that would be a defect.

Just wondering, I swapped out my brand new NGK plugs for motorcraft and it was a night and day difference. I was wondering if swapping out the wires might do the same. I have a misfire somewhere thats for sure
