had a nasty clank followed by some vibration. the dampner collar on the driveshaft came loose and was flopping around by the front U joint. the rubber let go, not surprising with 342,900 miles on it.
pulled it off, I'm wondering if anybody has any info on possible issues with it being removed long term.

I had mine taken off at the driveshaft shop whenever I put my V8 in but they also balanced it without. All I can tell you is run it and see no vibrations then good to go.

I've been running around without mine for about 4 mo now. So far so good.

update

there seems to be more noise and vibration now. maybe I'm listening more for it, maybe its the 343,500 miles on it. :icon_confused:
