Drive train swap

Have 2- 98 rangers 3.0 auto 4x4, will be stripping 1 down as donor, the build truck needs a trans. so while changing that we will also swap transfer case. I suspect the rear in the build truck will also need work. Can we swap rears as well, or do we have to worry about existing gear ratios?
I'm thinking we will have everything but the front diff in the build truck that match.

If the axle codes on the door tag match...

IIRC there is a code list in the tech library, and of course google knows.
