dreaded ranger lean

hey all ive done quite a bit of diggin and ive decided its time to fix my rangers lean, as it now touching the fender at full lock on the drivers side, doesnt help that i have 31's a supercharger hanging off the drivers side as well as the big heavy winch bumper.

ive seen a few options and i think im going with the 1" stack of washers under the drivers coil, but what have yall done?

im not opposed to stiffer springs if anyone has recommendations on any, i believe i used explorer coils trying to combat the weight, but they did not help, drivers side is resting on the bump stop lol

Stronger springs are the best idea. But I don't have any specific recommendation. F150 coils may be the answer. I would recommend getting the truck weighed. Take it to a truck stop and put it on the scales. It doesn't cost much. Pay attention to positioning and you can get a weight for front axle, weight on rear axle and total. That will give you an idea of how much weight is resting on those front springs when you're shopping for new ones.

thats a good idea, thank you I will do that. I havent looked into it yet, but do you know how much taller the f150 springs are, or if theyre just stronger?

orielly auto parts show the ranger as a higher spring rate, but a shorter spring..

also the diameters are not an insignificant amount different..

im going to order more coils for an f150 just to try, they can always be returned lol

D44 beam is longer, leverage and all that makes sense the ranger would have a stiffer coil.

Always bugged me that the ttb beams were not the same length.

Well, figured out why the lean was progressively getting worse rapidly!

So I replaced my coil bucket yesterday and the truck rides like new lol seems to have a very slight lean still but maybe 1/2” at most, here’s some pics of how she was when I finally lifted it up.

I went through similar on my F-100 a few years ago. Not a good feeling when you climb under the truck to check something else and find that. My coil bucket was a attached to the frame by 4 bolts. Found cracks running from the bottom, up through the lower two, and all the way up to the top two. Only the top two were still holding it on and barely at that. The bucket had started pulling away from the frame and wouldn't have been much longer before it was no longer attached.

yeah its definitely sketchy that i was driving on that, guess thats the perks of a 35 year old daily!
