The door ajar light just turned on today and the dome light will stay on I'm not sure where the switch is at the truck is a 2002 xlt extra cab

Switch is in the bottom of the door latch mechanism inside the door. Pull the door panel off and follow the wires to the latch. The switch will turn 90* and pop down like an old style tail light bulb.
Clean with brake cleaner and actuate by hand until it moves freely. Reinstall and repeat every few years. I lubed mine with graphite and it lasted a few years. Spray lubes tend to attract dirt/dust and gum up quickly.
