i have a 92 ranger with a 2.9 and put some 33X12.5 on and a 2 inch body and it is doggy and stumbles when i go up hills or hammer it im thinking its bad gas that has water in it or the ethanol. Im putting a new fuel filiter in it tonight with injector cleaner and filling it with 93 octane gas to see if it goes away. It has never done this with stock tires. Any Ideas?

you need to regear, the bigger tires changed your final ratio

Do you have a tach? Is this a five speed? Sounds like you just need to adjust your shift points.

I think it just shitty gas cause it does it with stock tires too. It has a new air filiter new fuel filiter. Ive been running dry gas and fuel injector cleaner through it seems to help. And it olny does it sometimes and just at 2500 rpms it doesnt do it at 5500 rpms.

When was the last time it was given a tune up??? plugs, wires, cap & rotor

yes, getting the codes would be the 1st step.

It could be many things...or combination of things.

& yes changing fuel filter is another good 1st step

it cleared up with octane boost and 93 octane from shell. I got gas from citco and they have the worst gas.
