My credo
Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Plan for it as best you can.
I don't have a lot of data.
Have a synopsis?

It did better than the Taco in just about everything but the "how slow can you go" race. Spec wise, the Taco has a bit of a leg up when it comes to Approach, departure and break over clearance. The Ranger was able to make it up one of the hills with the rear axle unlocked that the Taco had go locked. The auto crawl/trail cruise control did better on the Ranger but could potentially get you into trouble since it tended to lurch a bit. I think I covered it all.

The Chevy Colorado and Jeep Gladiator is going to be the toughest competition for the Ford Ranger. I don't know what happened to Nissan. They haven't updated the Frontier in 14 years.

Controlling interest got bought out by a European car company but the name is eluding me at the moment. Every since they started making the decisions, Nissan has been going down hill.

I agree on the Colorado/Canyon and Gladiator. It will be interesting to see how a head to head like above goes.

EDIT: Renault has controlling interest in Nissan and are calling the shots as to what Nissan does and doesn't do.

sounds familiar....

You can get a front locker with the Colorado and Gladiator. Not the Ranger.

No updates in 14 years. Ford guys Workin at Nissan now?

I didn't realize Renault had controlling interest of Nissan. This doesn't look good for Nissan's future as a company. Pretty much everything Renault touches turns to :censored:. Just ask AMC! I think Renault even had a hand in designing the 6.0 Powerstroke if I'm not mistaken right? Look how well that turned out for Ford!

I've already seen more Gladiators on the road than Rangers, and Rangers have been available longer.
Nissan and Renault have been in bed for years, decades maybe, IDK how long they've been "in control" of Nissan though, but the Frontier is being reworked as we speak, and Mercede's is also selling rebadged Nissan ( Navarro {?} ) trucks in foreign markets.

It doesn't matter if the Toyota can do some things better, the Ford owner can wear men's clothing.
I've seen a couple of Gladiators, the door hinges stick out like a car from the 30's so if you lube them oil/grease will drool down the side and if you don't lube them rust will run down the side. I guess I shouldn't be surprised because it's ancestors are Fiats and Ramblers.

I finally saw a Gladiator yesterday. Just a brief look at an intersection. It doesn’t look bad. About the same size and bed size as the current Ranger.

Gladiator has a user friendly bed....even with 40 in tires.

Tough pill to swallow. As to the hinges.....might want to have a closer look.

The bed did look more user friendly and the rear view would appear to be better.
