distributor oil priming tool for oil passage cleaning?

if i make a distributor oil priming tool, could i use it to flush all the oil passages before I start this 351 i just bought?.. Like how long could i drive the oil pump that way? Will it hurt anything if done for long periods? and would priming a diesel fuel/motor oil mixture though the pump/engine help flush out any gunk or clean the engine oil passages?

Think a 1/4" socket and a long extention will do the trick. Not positive of socket size, make sure you use some electrical tape on the socket and extention so it doesn't fall down in. Then I used a cordless drill and let it circulate.

Only thing I fear when trying to flush junk out using thinned oil is a chunk of debris getting stuck in an oil passage. Just my $.02

she shouldn't be chunky with only 40,000 miles on it but you never know.. I'd like to think the diesel/oil mix would have pressure enough to flush anything like that out though.. idk

could one flush with just diesel fuel this way(or another product that cleans)? or is that just too thin to build up any pressure?

I took another distributor apart and used the shaft in my electric drill--in reverse, I think, and that worked great to prime the engine after the rebuild.

ya sort of the same idea, I'm just gonna take the dizzy gear off an old dizzy, weld a socket where the rotor was, and bolt the dizzy in place and prime it like that.
