disciplerocks's B2 build thread

Been driving her a bit. Power steering pump is not working. Time to hunt down a Saginaw.

Also it wont start once it is warm. Need to pick up a coolant temp sensor, then check my wiring if that dont work.

Do some searching on pirate there is a Saginaw off a ford van that is pretty darn close to bolt in...alot less work then the chevy canned ham pump

I am sure you will get it all ironed out soon :icon_thumby:

Probably the same one thats in the tech library here.

just looked, you are correct.

ID you bleed the power steering . Just jack it up and turn the wheel lock to lock .

I did that, but didnt jack it up.

Replaced coolant temp sensor, cleaned MAF, and reset the ecu. Still wont start when warm and its idling high and running rich. Not really sure what to check next. Another member thinks I may have broken the MAF, dont know how I could have done that though.

Well since its still not running right and I can't make it to the junkyard to pickup a different MAF until I am off these 12 hour shifts, I decided to work on some other stuff. Braced passenger side extension (which already had a D28 arm on it) then I got the driver side D35 arm removed. Ready for the D28 to go in and get braced.

Have you checked the plugs lately to see if they're all equally fouled or if there's one plug that looks worse than the others?

If one plug is looking gnarly, you could have a sticking/leaking fuel injector on your hands.

Other than running rich/high ildle, does it seem to run ok? As in, does it seem to 'lean out' as you go up in the RPM band? Any dead spots in the power band? As the rich/high idle would make me suspect TPS/IAC more than a MAF as the MAF's can usually tolerate quite a bit of abuse.

That is, unless you were poking it with a screw driver or something :icon_twisted:

Possibly the TPS. Not the IAC. That would cause the high idle to slowly decrease and wouldn't keep it from starting warm. And neither would a bad injector.

Also keep in mind it ran perfect before pulling.
