disciplerocks's B2 build thread

I'd replace all three seals, that way you will be sure to get them all sealed up.

Which other seals do you mean? The front pump seal is the only one I know of that would cause it to leak inside the bell.

never mind, I thought it might have been the flat seal and O-ring that go on the bell-housing.

when I changed my pumps out, I went and bought all three seals and changed them all, even the one that seals on the TC.

Another failed attempt. I installed the new front seal, it still leaked. So I took all the bellhousing bolts out and rtv'd them, it still leaked. Then I bypassed the cooler incase there was a clog, it still leaked. Not really sure what to do now. I can try to swap the TC, but it wasn't worn or grooved.

As much as you don't want to, I would get some engine dye, pour it in the trans, run it for about 2 minutes, then pull the trans, tc and find out exactly where its leaking.
Question, did you use a light coat of Rtv on the outside of the seal surface where it contacts the housing?

On the new front seal? No didn't think it would need it. Its a pressed fit.

I'll be at skippers next weekend(the 20-22nd), if you want I can stop by and give you a hand...

We will be out of town that weekend for a Focus meet. Thanks though.

I think I made some progress. Swapped out the TC and installed it again. This time it trickled out for a minute, then quit so I hope I got it figured out. Won't get to mess with it again till at least middle of next week.

No update on the B2, but the Galant and the Explorer are gone.

Ok little update on the B2. It moves. It still leaks, but it moves. Got it in the garage so I can finish up the rear axle and install the rear driveshaft.

Glad to see that it moves but it now has a redneck GPS that tells you how to get home.

Got the rear finished up and drove her around the neighborhood. Still leaking like no other. Not really sure what to do about it.
