I had the tk5 in my other truck before i swaped to the m5od and i liked it for the 2.3. Gear ratios were closer. I still have it if interested but the input bearing is shot to hell. And yes it is shorter than the fm or m5od.

The TK trannies are the weakest of all the manual trannies (which is what i have a TK4) but is made for my 2.8.

Really I've heard they run forever. But then again I haven't heard anyone using one behind a 4.0

I think the B2 the TK5 came out of had over 200k miles on it. It was an '84 I do know that

If you cant find one, maybe it would be cheaper to go get it from him in gas cost then what a JY wants for a tranny (plus get to see eachothers vehicles in person too).

I wouldn't think it would be worth it to go to a weaker trans.

Is it weaker than my FM?

I was always told the 145 was the weakest. But I've never worked with a TK.

So Figured up the crawl ratio with both trannys and the doubler.

The FM would be 105:1 and the TK would be 111:1. Is that a decent enough jump? Or is it still not worth the time? Like I said I am still new to this.
