disciplerocks's B2 build thread

i found my 1354 at ypp....they are around...just have to watch them like a hawk.

Yeah B2s never came with 1354s. Only difference is my current one uses a plate instead if the yoke on the rear shaft.

I couldn't remember if you changed it. Didnt want to go back through the thread.

Yep, I've been looking for a 1354M for a couple years now. Found one a while ago but had to let it go for lack of funds...

Really? I didn't realize that. Never seen one. Oh well, still doesn't help me though.

I'm thinking when/if I install a doubler, I might pick up a TK-5 for the slightly lower first gear, but will still have OD. And I have heard they are a pretty stout tranny.

im just wondering how your going to get a doubler in there, you already have DS trouble.

I will Probably have one built. And I believe the TKs are shorter.

I heard that if you run a TK with a 4.0 you have to be nice on the throttle.

DS would be driveshaft and TK5 i think is a 5 speed manual transmission.

dunno what he's doing for a doubler

The TK4 and TK5 were the earlier 4 and 5 speed transmissions before the FMs. I picked up another 1350 for a doubler, but plan to swap the planetary set with an electric 1354. So it will be a hybrid.

You know I heard the same thing about the FMs too.

Yup just looked it up. The TK5 is about 3" shorter than the FM. Do you think the 3.96 first gear is good enough over my current 3.76? Is it worth swapping trannys? I don't really know enough about gearing.

I wouldn't think it would be worth it to go to a weaker trans.

Is it weaker than my FM?
