Difficulty shifting (2007 4.0 manual)

I try to shift, mostly going into 2nd gear and I have to move the shifter to 2nd position, ease off it and then it goes in after a few seconds. What could cause this? It used to go in much quicker. Could worn u-joints cause this? Trans fluid level is good. Clutch fluid is clean and full.
