So whoever had my truck before I did rear geared the front axle but not the rear... Im thinking about just swapping one of the axles to match the ratio in the other, which one would be easier to switch and which would be cheaper?

Rear axle is easier to swap. The junkyards around here run about $65 for an axle minus the drums.

Sent from my iPhone.

If it was my truck i would just swap the rear ratio to the front. When I built my 8.8 for my project we had it striped with new seals and back together in a hour and a half.

Do you know what the ratios are?

If one's 3.45 and the other 4.10 for example, I can guarantee you would not want to put another 3.45 in it.

+1 on the front, if the speedometer is correct and it runs good in 2-high then match the front to the rear.

this. find out what axles are what ratio and decide which is better for what you plan on doing with the truck. around here either axle is about the same price at the junkyard. labor is gonna be similar either way. the deciding factor is what ratio would work better for you.

Im pretty sure the front is still stock so its a 3.73 but the tag on the rear says 3.45

Easy-peasy then. Find a 3.73:1 8.8" rear from a '93-'09 truck (they're quite ubiquitous) and bolt it in. Should be about a 2, maybe 3 hour job in your driveway if there's no hang-ups.
