Anybody have info on decel fuel cut-off feature in the new rangers ? I have it on my '09 and I hate it. The rpms will drop about 500 about 3 seconds after lifting off the gas. The truck feels like it is having the brakes applied. I would like to disable this feature. Anyone know of a tuner that could do this?

uhhh.... actually ALL Ford Vehicles with EFI have had that feature all the
way back to the original EEC4 system vehicle, the 1983 thunderbird turbocoupe.

Apparently, the engine braking that occurs during decel fuel cut-off is more pronounced in the current ranger. The rpm drop and drastic slowing down was not present in the 2001 and 2003 rangers that I previously owned. I have read that the conditions (coolant temp, vehicle speed, rpms) at which DFCO occurs can be changed in some vehicles via a programmer/tuner. I just
haven't found if this is the case with the '09 ranger. Any other thoughts on this?

Complain to the dealership's service department. If enough people complain Ford will change it back.
