Saddest trip you've ever taken the Ranger for, huh? Still sucks that that happened man.

We won't be winning any awards with this build for tightest cage, but we are keeping the stock dash (removable) with functional heater, ac, window wipers, etc. The only thing that we have had to delete is the AC blend door actuator. The cage is also set up so that we can keep and recover the headliner. Due to limited space behind the dash, we have decided to not run the window "V" bars at this time.

Our goal is to have the main structure of the cage complete by the end of this week, including the rear shock mounts. The Explorer should be sitting on 4 wheels by early next week!

What do you mean by "rear doors ready for fiberglass?" Are they getting replaced with a 'glass door or are they getting pulled?

I mean that the stock handle has been removed and a hole has been cut into the door to allow the handle linkage to be extended to the fiberglass bedside. I will be using a set of Fiberwerx 7" flair bedsides to provide tire coverage. It is a 4 piece bedside kit that skins the rear doors and rear 1/4 panels.
 
Any news on the explorer yet? Getting anxious to see the end result!

Fiberglass mock-up! I am happy with the way that the Baker fenders matched up. IMO the front end width matches the fenders well.

The Glassworks 7" fenders are every bit a big as I was afraid that they would be. Since I wanted to move my rear axle back, these were my only option at the time. My first impression is that these actually make my 35's look small. I wish there was a happy medium somewhere. MFG Explorer fender & bedside sizing is fairly worthless. On my Ranger, Fiberwerx 6" fenders and bedsides matched my front and rear almost perfectly. On the Explorer the Glassworks and Fiberwerx 6" fenders were much too small (same front end and wheels). As you can see from these pictures, the 7" bedsides look more like a 10" bedside (same rear axle and wheels as what I had on the Ranger). Oh well, I am going to run it because I am done wasting money on fiberglass for right now.
