Has anyone had any luck putting a dash cam in the new Rangers? I’ve had one for years and really would like to keep one, but with all that plastic behind the mirror I wonder if it’ll work.

I stuck one just to the right of it. Worked great.

I’ll have to see what I can do, that hangs down more than I’d like.

Can you flip it, and mount it to the dash, or real low in the left or right corners of the windshield?

I could have mounted it a little higher. Doesn't get in the way of my view.

There is definitely plenty of room on either side of the windshield housing to mount a dash cam high and out of the way.

Would the dome light area be a decent place for one? I've truly never given it any thought before, or even noticed them much. And I guess 99+ percent times I've even seen them used was on the TV news or bad boy shows. It seems to my recollections a large number of those were actually mounted either above or behind the front seat.
One thing I do know without a thought is that I want nothing to block in any way my vision while driving, right, left, center, high or low! It's difficult enough avoiding distractions no matter how hard you'll try, so why add to em.
Graduated HS at 18 and hung the tassel on the mirror of my 64 Impala where it stayed for less than a day, and nothing that I can recall has ever hung there since and that's going on 50 years now

My last two cars I had it on the right of the mirror, because the sensor was on the drivers side. I think the sensor on the Ranger is on the passenger side, so I'm going to try it on the drivers side, as high up as those little dots will allow me.

Factory front and rear dash cams is an option I'd spring money for. And with the built in screens you could easily review the video right in the car if you needed to.

yes, I might just do that. As much as I hate to block a speaker, I’d rather attach it here than to the leather dash. Anyone know of this grill is easily replaceable?

Use "Command Strips" or something like Vel-Cro. You don't have to drill into that brand new "grill" piece at all. There are good adhesive alternatives to "screws into plastic".

It actually comes with 3m tape. I just don’t know how well it will come back off.
Thanks for the idea about putting it there, it didn’t occur to me. I owe you one.
