Well at least you got to go out this year!

Weather permitting that is. Also going to try and take up small game hunting such as squirrel hunting, my hunting grounds are full of them.

Ya for sure.
Squirrel is a darn fine meal! I've had it a couple times. Very tasty! Don't forget turkey, rabbit and ducks! A guy can feed his family all year with wild game and save a ton of money on food. We don't eat just wild game but I help supply the meat for me, my roommate and his wife, my girlfriend, her parents and her older brother.

Turkey costs more to hunt then me buying it. Within the last 15 years turkeys have come back to my hunting area and my dad grew up (great aunts house ifs next to it) next to it and never saw turkey till then. With squirrel, is going to take a lot of them to do the job. Rabbits, not so many of, the coyotes eat them.

Pretty much boils down to if I get my truck efi or not.

Lol

Yeah turkey season here ain't all its cracked up to be. You can get one in fall and one in spring, but the tag for each cost as much one in the store. Plus gas and how ever many trips you take trying to get one.

Fall would be the only time it would be worthwhile if you are already going to deer hunt.

Ya it's definitely not cheap. But I do it just to get out in the woods.

I just bought two more from Wal-Mart tonight for $25, they have them for .78 cents a pound. I now have 3 in my freezer that will end up getting canned like the 20lb one did, got 11.5lbs from it and broth (yes little known fact I home can food and I'm also 26 and male don't hear that to often).

I hope to put a couple of deer in the freezer (and jars) but I have to get the birds out if I do.

Don't know if I said it or not but my dad bought my licence and I'm going next Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning with him. Went last Sunday and saw nothing because of a sudden warm front came through but there is a buck working the area.

As for the truck, sits cold in the garage for now but slowly getting parts for the 8.8 swap. Need to get a 3 inch drive shaft flange for a 1330 joint, don't want to drill the pinion flange to fit my current 2.5 inch one with my conversion joint.

Hey canning is a good thing to know! All that meat is now going to last you for years. Or until you eat it lol. I know several people who do it. I don't have my own house so I don't have a place to put anything or I'd be doing it too.

For those still following this slowing build thread, she is still with me, but quiet in the garage sleeping. Do plan on starting.her tomorrow. Only real thing letting me from driving her is the windshield wiper being broken at the plastic ball and socket joint but easy fix just have to go to AutoZone to get a replacement.

However plans on the efi may change for next year. Pam on getting another ranger, 2wd extended cab 4 banger, and finding somebody that can help me tune the carb. Yes I love my tbird but I'm more of a truck and ranger person but also want something easier to fix on that I can find parts a dime a dozen.

Have two weeks off work coming up so I may tackle the explorer rear end by getting the perches on it, all depends on if I want to work in the cold or not.

Buy one of the propane heaters like I have.

This time of year money gets tight so I tend to have to suffer if I want to do something. Also space heaters are a violation of my lease, if I do use one I have to be able to hide it easily.

Got a new starter with a LLT warranty, got it changed out and she is able to get started easier now, no more starter kicking out of engagement. I did have to remove the header from the head and pull it up to get the old one out but this new one is smaller so not sure if I will have to do the samething next time.

Header off and old one out.

New one.

New one in and can't wait to be driving her more, so much more reliable.

Next will be the windsheild wiper plastic joint.
