dangerranger1983 build

how well did that set up work? ever get grease in the water through the seal?

only do that in an emergency with a modern pump.

it wont work long and will blow out the front seal as well not to mention given enough grease fawk up your heater core and cause transfer issues with the waterjackets.

Day started with me opening the garage and it falling on the truck. Good thing I don't have to fix it but instead my property management.

Got the pump off got the new one and went to paint it and saw that my new one has a gasket between the pump and back plate that my other one didn't.

All painted and ready to be installed. Also going to install the temp gauge while I'm doing this but not going to install a different thermostat till I knew what the truck is running at.

Well that sucks about the garage door. Pump looks good though!

All back together but can't drive or even start the truck because the garage door is still broke and closed shut and the door won't be enough to ventilate. Also amazing what 12 years of sun and heat do to a gauge face.

Sure is shinny under your hood! I wish I could keep mine shinny. Too much dust and/or mud where I hunt and 4wheel to try to keep it clean here.

I try and keep it half way decent so it's not such a mess so when I have to work on it unexpectedly I'm nut going to end up being such a mess. I have yet to go wheeling with the truck since the swap. Still need to get a carb spacer but will see if the low coolant level caused my vapor lock.

Hopefully tomorrow I can test things out.

Yeah I know what ya mean. I have all the oil leaks fixed on the engine but the breathers still weep a lil onto the valve covers. The power steering box weeps just enough to keep the frame grimy too. Yesterday while I was welding the track arm bracket and coil bucket brackets on the grime in the frame caught fire at least 1/2 a dozen times lol. It's a pain to keep stuff clean.

The oil on my valve covers helps keep them shiny. All I have to do is wipe them off with a towel.

I have the samething when my powersteering, helps keep things lubricated under it.

Lol keeps it shiny.
I just get tired of it looking so darn grimy after putting all that time and effort into it. It would be nice to not have any leaks. I need to go through and fix the leaks on my trans, ps box and then the gaskets on the breathers. Just more time and money is all lol.

The leaks in my trans help to keep fresh fluid in it, very crude way of doing an oil change.

Ha ha ha! That is true.

have you tried your master and slave cylinder combo yet? are you getting full disengagement, i dont want to have to buy a novak slave if i dont have to

I've been driving mine for two years since the swap with no issues.

85 ranger master and line and 84 f150 slave.

Is the 85 master just a 7/8" master? I have a 91 on mine

Don't know. Put a 2.8 years ago to replace my old 2.3 and got the clutch setup from the JY. It was from an internal slave on the 85 that had an fm145 trans.

Had my cousin the in the truck pumping the clutch while I was under it opening and closing the bleeder screw. Did that about 5 times then got in the truck and pumped the clutch for about 30 minutes. It originally released engaged right outcry the floor but over a months time does it all in the middle of the pedal push and has been there since then. Also using a 10 inch clutch, not an 11 inch, but that's only because I got the 10 at a better price and they are rated up to 8,500lb gross weight vehicles and mine won't ever reach that point.
