Just bought a Edelbrock Performer 289 off craigslist for a total of $74.25 with shipping. Just needs cleaned up but no biggy. Just learned that it was on an 88 5.0 HO. Its the guys 66 mustang restomod. He is converting it to fuel injection. (his exact words).

Got the clutch in yesturday but finally got to getting pics of it.

Fits on the flywheel that is made for from what I looked up 84-91 f150's. Has two sets of holes drilled for both 10 and 11 inch clutches.

Intake hasnt come in yet but if not tomorrow I will contact the seller on it. He said that he would get the tracking number for me yesturday but didnt get it but seems to me hes a busy person. We shall see....

In the mean time I need to figure out 100% on how to install an intake, I see many different ways on doing it and few pictures of it being done step by step.

It doesnt have the rear water passage cross over but shouldnt hurt to much.

Now I just need to figure out how to get that hose barb fitting out of it, kinda looks like it is rusted in. I dont know what kind of sealant was used on it either, but its coming off.

Will be hopefully running to the JY this Saturday to grab a rear driveshaft, at least one that is to long and has the 1330 joints on both ends and go from there, water neck for the intake and anything else that $100 can get me. I plan on running the 1330 at the output since thats what the slip yoke has and running a 1330 to 1310 conversion for the rear and buying a 1310 ujoint flange for the small bolt pattern that is on the 7.5, found a website that sells them and if need be in the future, I can get one for the larger bolt pattern later down the road if I grenade the 7.5.

I still need to get a fuel pump, just remembered that. I wish my in tank fuel pump still worked but it gave up on me two years ago.

Got the intake cleaned off and 95% of the gasket stuff that was used by the P.O.

TRS was having server errors yesturday so didnt get to post all of this till now....

Went to the JY today and scored great. Got everything for $60, half of what I thought that I would pay. Rear driveshaft was $25, powersteering pump was $25 and the water neck, $10.

Good thing about this water neck, has the spot already tapped for a sensor, trick is now getting the screw out.

Great story behind getting this. Popped the hood on the car and my cousin took 4 bolts off. Well I went to take the rest off and one was being a pain in my ass. Half way taking it off the owners son who was with us BSing and whatnot said theres the snake. Mind you I was sitting under the hood in the engine bay a foot away from the snake. I didnt take the time to look, I literally flew from under the hood turn around and saw the rest of it slither into the fender. After 5 minutes of thinking about not getting the pump, we decided we got this far and just get it, I needed it anyways so got it. Also my hip hurts too, somehow I managed to twist it flying from under the hood, big shocker there.

As for the driveshaft, went to look at a stock pile they had and found one that was too long, as I was needing anyways, and it had the 1310 joints, figured I am going to have to use a conversion joint on this anyways so got it. Well after going to get the water neck I looked inside of the truck that I was getting it from and saw that it had its shafts already pulled. Measured it and it was 56 inches, same length as what my current ranger one is and the swap is going to need a shorter one so decided to grab it instead plus it has the 1330 joints on it, still going to have to use a 1330 to 1310 joint for the rear end. Well it has a slip yoke on it, looked similar to what I already had so got home went to test fit it and slides right over the output shaft, perfect match. The fluid below is from when I took the slip yoke out today to go compair it at the JY.

Well not much got done but did get the screw out of the water neck with some help.

Next I need to get the intake bolts, thats my big thing holding me back from doing everything else along with some valve cover bolts.

Basiclly, I need to make a hardware list for everything and go from there.

Looking good :icon_thumby:

I just pulled a 302 out of my buddies mustang for my 85 B2, should be a fun project :headbang:

What year mustang? Your starting with 200hp, just like me except I had to put a mustang HO cam in my 302 to put it at 200hp giving me the specs of an 85 carbed mustang.

If you don't have a build thread started, start it now with how your b2 is now and go from there.

I ordered a driveshaft ujoint flange that runs the 1310 joint and bolts to the small pinion flange (2.5 inch) that I have whicj means I dont have swap out the pinon flange. I will use this with a 1330 to 1310 ujoint and should be good other then shortening the shaft.

Next I will have to measure my caps and get the conversion joint that has the cap size and should be good.

My only thing is I have never changed out ujoints but from what I have read and seen, doesnt look to hard.

I also need to find an exhaust flange and pipe for the passenger side and then go from there.

It was pulled out of an 83, i dont know if it is the stock engine for that year, i am going to go and search for some casting numbers on it to date it. I has an after market cam, edelbrock performer intake and a edelbrock 4 barrel carb. He sold it to me for $215.79.

That cost a heck of a lot less then what I have put into my engine getting it to where it is.

Now it's time for you to start gathering all the rest of the parts and also decide on your trans/transfercase combo and if your going with a manual trans or auto.

Wow things are really moving along with your SAS and V8 swap!

Since selling my ranger I've bought and sold my cummins, bought a new GMC (yuck) and aquired a 1951 International L130 pickup previously owned by my grandpa (since new)

I Enjoyed reading the last 15 pages of your build, keep it up!
