So a bit of a verbal update and lack of pics -_- I left my phone on the charger when I left to go work on the truck.a good friend of mine from so-cal was in norcal for training.we ended up making a last minute decision to wrench on the truck.I got the trans stabbed, downpipe bolted up,starter in place, the auto driveshaft does not work on the manual.the output shaft diameter is bigger on the manual than the auto.good thing I grabbed the driveshaft from the junkyard doner!
Now the tricky part,my friend is a foxbody enthusiast.he is convinced that all I should have to switch for electrics is the ECU and the trans harness that shoots through the drivers side frame rail.the one that houses the rear lights and fuel pump wires.since he knows more than me,I am going to try it his way.but I have read a few times that if the auto harness is used that there are a few pins that have to be swapped /installed and wires ran. Part of the reason im going along with his idea is that we found the clutch master cylinder plug capped with a factory bypass insert in the auto harness.so I am going to compare the big firewall connector between the auto and manual harness hopefully this saturday and try to get it going.the pedal assembly is also installed and the dash is damn near removed. There will be crappy cell phone pics on saturday if I make it out that way!
