I have a crack in my coolant reservoir, dealer wants dealer prices. I try a junk yard who has two compatible years but neither of them were close to mine. I'm trying to find out where else I could look for such a specific part besides the dealer. 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 2.3L 2WD Auto

Thanx for any help,

well you could make one...

or you could culd try and make a different year fit.

but id just go to the dealer.

its a plastic tank, cant be more then 50 bucks.

you could try LMC trucks.

Just got to be cheap and inventive. One guy at the local Mustang site posted his answer to your problem.

Guys keep in mind that the Duratec Rangers use a pressurized coolant reservoir. They have no cap on the radiator. The only cap is on the reservoir and that's the only place to fill the cooling system. It has two large hoses connected to it that go to the engine and radiator. So in this case it is not as simple as using a generic parts store tank, or zip-tying an empty bottle of whiskey and sticking a hose in it.
