that doesn't answer the question. why would a company sell a product, and risk losing money, if it was totally useless and unuseable
first, read my post directly above yours, second they don't stock more than one at a time, as they sell them (however un common that is) they get another stock manifold from a j/y, bead blast it so its shiny, cut the top off and weld a plate to it. its not a "risk" if they only make what they sell
and its not "totally useless" i'm sure that it does function so therefore has a use but between the cost of that manifold, and the cost of the engine managment system you'd need to run it you're near $1000.00
or you could have all of the stock efi components hooked up so that it properly runs the ignition just have the injector wires cut off, and then you could superfluously add the expense and inefficiency of that maniflod and the cost of a carb, and the cost of either a carb fuel pump or a regulator to keep the efi psi down for the carb and the added cost of the correct throttle position sensor for the carb (designed for just such a purpose)
and in that scenario the trouble, difficulty and complexity of the 4.0 swap is seriously increased
so rather than ask "why would 1 company make it if it doesn't work".......ask if it does workwhy doesn't anybody else make one? no edelbrock? no holley? no weind? no offenhouser?
