Yes, get trans/mount, flywheel, drive shaft and pedals
I would get new clutch master/reservoir and slave, and self-adjusting pressure plate with new disc and bearings
Drive shaft needs to match your model, i.e. regular cab, extended cab or long bed
And Steering column if you want to get rid of the automatics shifter
Its always good to change rear main seal on engine when transmission is out, not required just a good idea
Also u-joints for the same reason
The M5OD-R1 uses ATF not gear oil
And its easier to drain and refill when its out
It only holds 2.8quarts of Mercon V ATF bone dry so not expensive to change fluid in it
M5OD-R1(M5R1) is a transmission "model", like Ranger is a Ford model, "Ranger" doesn't mean its 2WD or 4WD, or regular cab or extended cab, its just the "Model", a small light truck
M5OD-R1 is the "model" of the manual transmission used in Rangers and other Fords from 1988 to 2011
So M5OD-R1 is not specific to 2WD or 4WD or what engine it fits, its just the "model" of the transmission
