Coleman Liquid Fuel

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Just kidding. I have a propane stove as a back up incase I can’t cook over the camp fire and my main camp lanterns are kerosene lanterns with citronella fuel in them.

The white fuel lanterns are at deer camp. I need to get a matching stove.

See... You can’t argue with Hank Hill.

The only propane thing I own is the house furnace... and that is because we don’t have natural gas available.

Had to mow the lawn today. So I didn't get to work on my stove. Dad had a kit to convert it to propane. But I want it to work on white gas. Maybe next week.

I prefer camp fire or a charcoal grill. I think they cook the best and have the best flavor. Propane is only for back up.

Hey at least its not electric! BTW I do have charcoal grill(s) for the all day cookouts, ya jerks!😘

Can moderators give other moderators warning points? @snoranger deserves a dozen for the propane meme 😂😂😂😂😂😂

You guys remember lighting farts as a kid?

Little known fact, that's what led to the discovery of white gas and the development of Coleman appliances.

Ground breaking, really.

Got my stove cleaned up today. I need to repaint it. Found out that the paint used in this is not compatible with acetone. Got messy while I was trying to clean out the fuel tank and the paint started coming off. So I stripped it completely and gave it a coat if VHT primer and two coats of VHT Ford red. I didn't like that orange color anyway.

Stove fired up fine. I've placed an order for some spare parts and mantles for my lantern. Ready for camping. I might go somewhere this next week for a couple nights just to get away from the house.

Hit a couple garage sales today, I did come across this:

It's a '64 model, 425D which is the next model older than my current one (425E) Didn't really need another little one (I would like to get a 413/414 which is a little bigger) but it was cheap enough and had a new in box stand. Pump builds pressure, cap gasket leaks.

Kinda neat to compare, they made a lot of changes between '64 and '74.

Any idea how old yours is?

Judging by the color scheme I almost think it was on the slightly older side things but while it does have the more triangular shaped decal like my older one yours has the built in stamped feet, internal heat shield and latch for the lid like my newer one.

Well it runs:

It built pressure enough to hiss out of the cap at the sale. So I took the cap off and plugged it with my thumb and it still built pressure. Ok, good to go. I get it home and swap caps with my other 425 and it wants to blow back the plunger. So I stuck the whole other tank assembly on it from my other 425.

I do suspect it needs cleaned inside, it does have more yellow than my other one and it can take a bit for it to settle down with throttle adjustments.

Guessing November of '64.

Kinda fun to compare the two though.
