Cold starting stalling problem

Hi everyone! I've got a 1990 Ford Ranger with the 2.9l. For the past 2 months I've been experiencing this cold starting problem where it'll stall when I try to drive away. It only happens when it's warm out and it's been cooking in the sun, I'll give it a minute to warm up but once I put it in drive it'll struggle to run unless your on the gas. Once it's warmed up it seems fine. But recently today I was driving to school and it was 50°f, once I got halfway there where traffic starts to slow down it was struggling to run if you were off the gas, and it stalled once I pulled into the parking lot. This issue that happend today is new, I'm completely stumped now. Any help would be appreciated and feel free to ask questions for more information.

Can't, I tried using a scan tool and nothing came up so I'm assuming it can't read

And one more thing I forgot to mention, when it stalls it'll take about 5 seconds of cranking after it stalls

At the very least you should get a code 11 for engine running and engine off codes, signifying that there are no errors. You need to determine if the scan tool you used is for an OBD1 system, and that it's working correctly, so you can determine if the ECU/ECM is the reason you're not getting trouble codes. Try using an analog voltmeter or test lght/12v light bulb instead of the code reader you have.
