Go to a muffler shop, ask to dig through their scrap pile. Find yourself some tarnished or otherwise flawed stainless tip. Clean them with a Scotchbrite pad and dish washing liquid.
Install them on the exhaust and run them for a while. Let them cool until comfortable to the touch, but noticeably warm. Spray them with some black header paint from the parts store, let it dry for a minute or two, then start the truck and let the heat of the exhaust bake the coating on. I have done this on a driver with $1 gloss black spray paint and it was still flawless semi-gloss black when the muffler bit the dust.
