So I understand that I need to pull the fuel pump fuze and let it run until it quits to release pressure in the fuel lines. Does it matter if I change the fuel filter on a full or empty tank? Any danger of the weight of the fuel causing pressure or siphoning on these tanks or am I safe doing the swap on full?

No, you don't need to worry about that. You are really over thinking this. Its just changing a fuel filter, no disarming a nuke.

I just release the pressure at the valve on the fuel rail prior to changing the filter. No need to worry about how much fuel is in the tank. You'll just get a little bit when you release the fittings on the filter.

Just don't smoke while you're doing it. :D

Thanks, good tip about the valve.
