Sorry in advance, I am new to the forums and am looking for some help.

I am going to replace the fuel filter on my '04 Ranger, 3.0 V6. I have the correct filter and correct tool as outlined by Zedmaster in the tech library section.

I crawled under the truck and found my filter. No tools with me, just looking. I noticed the disconnectors look mighty different than the ones in the drawings in Zedmasters How to guide. Will the tool I have still work for these disconnects or do I need a different version?

I can take pics if need be.

Little green and orange tabs? If so just push em in with your fingers real hard and wiggle. Easier with the filter still bolted on.

Thanks crunchy. After I posted, I went back out and took a harder look, and on a hunch, pushed the green tab and off it and the rest came.

I did learn one valuable thing with this. Make sure your fuel filter is THEE last thing you mess with or change that day. Cause your gonna wanna take a shower badly after your done.

yeh it is pretty important to relieve ALL of you fuel pressure when replacing the fuel filter. but no worries, I am sure we have all taken a fuel bath before!
