Bad gas mileage after fuel filter change?

I will get 100 to 150 on the 1st half and 100 or less for the 2nd half. Then I pull in to the gas station with low fuel light and only put in 15 gallons. Meaning that I am getting a low fuel warning and guage indications when I have nearly a 1/4 tank of fuel left. To determine mileage you have to fill the tank, drive then fill the tank again to determine the gallons used. You do not have to run the tank empty, doing so will provide you the best average mileage for you drive. If you drove a mix of stop and go and flat highway you should get a good average mileage. If you want to determine your best hiway fuel mileage, fill up and drive 50 to 60 miles at 65, stop fill up and do it again at 70 and so on. I will bet you find that 65 provide the best flat land mileage while around 75 provides the best mountainous mileage. (transmission shift less, RPMs stay more consistant).:D

Are you really suggesting that I drive around going 70?

Um... why would that be a problem on the interstate?

The interstate usually isn't mountainous. And I only have one interstate highway nearby. All highways around me are around 50-55 mph INCLUDING about half of the interstate. This area is strange about doing that.

Getting a 20 over ticket isn't my cup of tea.

Thats odd most highways around here are 65 and some of the interstates 75.
