CCW..wow and people wonder why I don't

I dont know what job you have, but for the average civilian its illegal to cross state lines with a gun wihtout a permit.

And you don't think I already know this.......The post after yours hit it on the nose?

Or to put another way...

The second ammendment has nothing to do with Hunting or self defense.

The second amendment is about the founding fathers not trusting the
people would come after them, and because they didn't trust future
elected officials it was their way of saying: "Obey the constitution or
the PEOPLE will pop a cap in your ass and give your job to someone
who will"

As for the japanese NOT invading the mainland US
the Japanese army wanted to, they (Stupidly) believed
they could pull it off, their naval commander, Isoroku Yamamoto
was present at the cabinet meeting where an invasion was proposed
and his comment (allegedly stated in an acid voice filled with contempt)
"You cannot invade the Mainland U.S. because there will be a rifle behind
every blade of grass!
"

Look at what a mix of hungry unsupplied marines and civilian
construction workers did to repel the first japanese attempt to
invade Wake island... Now imagine instead several thousand
deer hunters hunting invading troops in the pacific northwest
(the Japanese wanted to inade along the oregon/washington
coastline)

I can imagine the title of the book that would have been written after the war...
"The army that simply vanished"

I like what a lady said about guns. The second amendment has two reasons personal protection, from anything from wild animals, to criminals. The second reason is to protect us from the government.

Now onto what this post was originally about. The NRA lawyer will be here tomorrow, will post more later.

Only one problem... The majority of those PEOPLE have become pussified and don't have any balls anymore. And if the "need were to arise" many of the ones that have some balls, wouldn't have big enough balls to take it any further. If the need arose, those that would be involved would probably be short handed for quite some time until people started pulling their heads out of their asses.

As long as I'm alive, this country will never become an Australia. If I'm dead, however, you're all in trouble...

I won't be the one sitting back saying "Damn, maybe I should have done something."

My shotgun is on a rack about 6 ft in the air. None of them are reachable by my child. Now the lawyer will be here in the morning, and I have gotten the deputy to write a report on this loon. I will update you guys!

I'm sure the Japanese Army was trembling at the thought of a bunch of hardware store 16 gauge shotguns wielded by store clerks and hay farmers.

It's minutely (that means a teeny bit) possible that this 7,000-mile pond between our fair nations presented a logistical problem in shipping over and sustaining the million-man army it would have taken to assualt and secure a major costal city--which you would need for the port services and such.

It's stupid to leave guns lying around all over the place. I'm an armed citizen with a lifetime carry permit and I keep my weapon secure and accessable. In my pocket or in a safe with the finger-touch coded keys on the top. My shotgun is hidden where even my wife doesn't know it's there because she's a nut like your ex. Eveyrthing else is in a safe. Do not let yourself get complacent.

mentalbreakdown00,

The next thing you should do, THE VERY NEXT THING
is get a restraining order against her.

why? because that's HER probable next step and IF that happens the
cops will come looking for your guns.

so take action to head her off.

any unsubstanciated claim by her can cause you no end of grief
for years, even decades.

Spend as much time talking to deputies about her "threats" and
erratic behavior as possible, with an eye to calling them as witnesses
later and trust me, you will

she is probably angling for custody as a way to extract more child
support from you.

Am I telling you something you don't already know if I tell you that
you had a child with a complete bitch?

Also technically you SHOULD keep your firearms more safely than you are
SOME would take issue with having several loaded firearms at hand.

Put the shotgun behind the door on a rack over the door

Even if it hurts get a cheap gunsafe from Walmart and keep most
of them locked up, because as things stand now someone could
break in and steal them all.

You might want to consider keeping one or two at your dad's house
That way if she does act first and the police come lookinf for your
firearms they don't get them all. and whatever they don't get are
far easier to get back.

Years ago in NJ I had a rifle and a handgun STOLEN.
They were recovered by the police, they were NEVER returned to me

I don't feel real bad about the Mini-14, as it was a kinda clapped out POS
I am still pissed off about the S&W469 9mm

With a concealed firearm mabey, but in interstate travel
according to the Gun Owners Protection Act of 1985 when traveling from one state to another you only need to meet the legal standard required bt the stricter of the states you are traveling to and from, the laws of the states in between are legally irrelevant.

That won't help you when dealing with an officer in some state like Illinois.

And Cops in general may know some laws very well, but in general
do far worse than the average gun owners when asked to interpret the relevant laws about firearms.

As a sterling example look at the laws about Hollowpoint Bullets in NJ.

Some will tell you they are "illegal" when they are only illegal IF something else you did with the firearm was illegal
There is an exception clause at the top of the section of the state law that NOBODY ever reads.

Ever hear the saying "the Law is an ass"?
Most cops are worse. Well meaning but ignorant.

The worst thing someone can be is insistantly ignorant.
they "know something" but what they know is WRONG
and they resist correction.

I've been asked many times "Do you have any firearms in the vehicle?" I NEVER directly answer.

In PA they are not supposed to ask about firearms, some do anyway.

I'm never openly rude until an officer is. but once HE crosses that invisible line I am the wellspring from which all sarchasm flows...
and I WILL drown his sorry ass.

As for searching my vehicle?

Over YOUR dead body.

I like allan, hes always got the answers. LOL Serious not sarcasm.....

:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:Isn't it always the way. Best of luck to you man. Its a rare thing to get a win over Florida DCF. I would move all my weapons to a family members house, I did actually. and keep one htat your willing to let go of so they can take it if need be and not ask questions. Thye let it drop as long as they get one.

Even if you had that Sherman in your avatar the govt would squish you like a gnat. They don't even use those things for target practice anymore. Stockpile all of the assult rifles and crap you want for a revolution, and you will still easily be outclassed.

Logistics were not a problem for us... we fought most of the war right on their doorstep.

If they captured a city, they would not have held it for long and I think Yamamoto knew that. For the same reason why they ended the war without a Navy or Air Force to speak of, they didn't have the resources or manpower to keep the engine running for the long haul. Most of their steel was from the US, so was their oil, once it was cut off their days were numbered unless they found more of it... and we didn't let them.

But for the record, the US wasn't all that crazy about invading Japan even with mostly unarmed citizans either... that is why they got a couple special deliveries from B-29's instead.

Actually they started the war with us only to prevent us from interering with their invading the british posessions of south east asia where there was a ready source of oil.

The amusing thing is in the first full year of the war (1942) only 47% of the stolen oil shipped from Singapore and Malaysia actually made it back to japan
in 1943 it was 19%, in 1944 it was 7% and in 1945 NONE.

Why? Ever seen what happens when you stick a torpedo carrying a 1500lb High Explosive warhead into the side of an oil tanker?

Charlie Lockwood and his band of merry submariners managed to
sink most of the japanese merchant fleed even with unreliable
torpedoes.

I a not complacent about my firearms. One reason we have those few around, is my fiance stays at home for work, and someone tried to break in about a year ago when she was home by herself, and all the guns were locked in the safe. In her panic she couldn't get into it. Now saying that the man that was tring to break in was a serial rapist............ Now I know you may not still agree why I have one on the top of the fridge and one right next to her hanging on the wall, and the one that goes around with me until nighttime when it goes into my night stand drawer not 3 inches from my face. Also saying that we have a total of 5 kids, she has 4 from a previous and I have 1. All of her children, from 6-13 I have instructed and have taken the kids classes and attended with them about firearm safety. I have taught them everthing I could exhaust to them about how to safely hold a firearm, and to double and trilpe check it is unloaded both when it's given to them and when they are done shooting and before handing it back to me. I have shown them what a gun will do to you if you miss trreat it by showing them deer, hog, and other animals I have slain, heh and then we all ate. Also about how it is soo important that they use the right to bear arms when they turn 18. They also know to not even go into my room where all of the guns are stored except the 3 I mentioned, even though they are in a safe....

Interesting thread.

When I got my CC permit here in ND, I went to the local city PD for finger prints and to the sheriffs office for a pic. The sheriff signed off on my application, his office delivered the app to the city police chief who signed off, then then he sent the app, photo, and prints to the state AG. They could not have been nicer or more helpful.

in texas you can conceal anytime,...as long as you dont get caught, most towns here dont have cops, they share with the next towns over and they only come threw town once a week, and since its a small town, pop. 400. and its all hunters, everyone has loaded guns in there trucks. in plain few on the seat.
