TRS Event Carlisle Truck Nationals August 2-4, 2024

No biggie, Rick.
I got my stuff too. It appears that the TRS area is the same spot as last year.

How much was the tent again? $250?

I bought two of these today, and I’m pretty sure I have enough helium to fill them up. They’re about 36 inches long and a foot and a half high. We can put one above The Ranger Station tent, and I’m going to attach the other one to the Road Ranger on show day up by the wash area.

I think I'm going to pack a little lighter this year, get breakfast at McDonalds and just grill dinner.
Cooking breakfast and cleaning up tended to be a rush and put me behind.

The time factor has been a main driver for me just living out of my SAR pack. Less to pack and unpack. Less to clean as well. And it helps me rotate the food stock in the pack. Depending on my mood, I may just sleep in the back of the truck this trip so I don't even have to mess with the tent. I'll see how the mood strikes me when I get to the camp site

I got a site with electric this year. Don't need electric but they were level.

The site I had last year wasn't too bad. I think it was 220. I have the site Eric had last year and I think it wasn't so bad either. You just have to make sure your head is up hill and the slope isn't so steep that you are pushing yourself away from the wall of the tent all night because you keep sliding down. Been there.

You can set up a tent in that site without any appreciable slope. I liked that site. It also had generous parking which was handy since I had the tow dolly from TRS2.

Can we grill at the show? Who likes cold brew coffee? I might get my buddy to give me 2 gallons of cold brew. Cool beans brew on FB look them up.

I don’t remember if anybody posted a map or schedule yet, but here it is

The Ranger Station is in section “JJ” the same place we were last year. This is all the way on the right hand side of the map in the red circle.

On Saturday, judging day, I will be in section “R“ the yellow circle by the wash station. Depending on what time the judging is done, I might pull out and drive over by you guys.

I think the only maps posted was for the camp ground. I'm sure some will find the map and schedule helpful.

In the other thread Eric recommended Fay's Country Kitchen for breakfast. May keep the cooler in my truck and get a hoagie in the morning at a Sheetz or someplace for lunch. Prices aren't horrible inside the event but the lines at the concession stands can be long. My new knee is doing pretty good but gets achy if I'm on my feet a lot.
