So i picked up a Superlift 5.5" lift used from a guy here on TRS. Nice enough guy and I got a pretty good deal on the lift kit, but this was the "dropped" pitman arm that came with the lift. I looked on the Tech Articles and found some pics posted by 4x4junkie, thats when I realized that I may have gotten the wrong pitman arm. It looks beefier than the one on my truck now but its hard to tell without putting them side by side. Can anyone tell me for sure?

Thats a pretty standard drop pitman arm for that lift.

The only one that is longer the extreme drop pitman arm from skyjacker.

You didn't get ripped off. That's the standard drop arm, about 2.5" lower than stock. As mentioned, the Skyjacker extreme is the only one that's lower, at about 4" of drop.

ok cool, I am just getting everything together so I can install it all before the 10th anniversary event. Making sure that I have everything down to the last bolt together before the build. All I need now is some Chevy Leafs...

Just about everyone who buys a TTB lift kit gets ripped off when it comes to the pitman arm. This however is no fault of whoever you bought the kit from, it's the suspension manufacturers.

If you have 5.5" of lift, you will want to get the Skyjacker pt# FA600 drop arm on there for sure.

Yeah, I am keeping my eyes peeled for used Superrunner kit and modify it like you did, I just cant afford either the Superlift or skyjacker steering upgrade right now. Will I be ok to DD and wheel with the arm I have now? according to your tech article I won't be able to align it like it should be

It'll work for a little while, but you'll notice some wandering and it trying to dart all over the road (not to mention the life of your tires will be taking a hit as well the longer you run it).

Run it for a few weeks while you save up for what the SJ arm or the Superlift kit costs new, hopefully a used one might pop up cheaper in the meantime.
The other option would be to wait on installing the kit until you get the right parts for the steering.

Thanks for the info... I'll see what I can do
