I'm swapping in a 4.0 OHV into my '97 Ranger from a 2.3 and I would like to know if I can use some SOHC headers for it as they are more attainable.

Any help is appreciated!

No, the cylinder spacing is different.

To see the difference 1st hand, go to your local parts depot and compare the 2 exhaust manifold gaskets.

Alright that's disappointing but not surprising, thanks for the reply.

The stock exhaust manifolds for a Ford 98+ spec OHV 4.0l offer improved flow with the redesign but you need the smaller exhaust port 98+ heads to match the port size; your 97 may have the correct heads. If your head exhaust ports are round, the are 98+ ..)

Doorman sells them for around $100 min.
