Can i put a 2002 2.3 2wd 5-speed ranger transmission in my 1989 ranger 2wd 5-speed ?

So my 2.9 v6 ranger drop a vaulve and the motor sized (long story) but anyways i was wondering if i can put a 2002 2.3 duratec transmission in with without any problems. My plan is to put the 2.3 ecoboost out of the mustang in it. Any help would be great

I think they will bolt up. Now as for what all the other stuff you need to do to make it work with the truck, that is another story. I would definitely get the entire mustang if you can to get all of the parts/ wiring/ ecm and whatnot to make your swap cheaper.

I would think it would bolt up too, i will start a build thread when i get the transmisson and see if it works. Thanks for the advice going to keep a look out for a donor mustang forsure !

I think they will bolt up. The issue would be the connections like for the speedometer. Those will be different.
