Camping and wheeling Idaho Springs (pics)

Went camping and wheeling last weekend. Took some pics on the cell phone. Pretty much ran through what was left of my auto lock hubs. But I got some OEM replacements and a pair of warns when I get the time. The pics I did take of the trail were at one of the easy points but on the way up and down it was windy, rocky and a little hairy for a stock ranger.

My buddy brought his buggy.... Did great in our drive by stump shooting:stirthepot:

The same valley when the storm hit.

Marble sized hail and lightning all around us. We had about half of our stuff packed up when the storm blew in. Waited out the lightning for about 45 minutes in the truck, then drove out through a flooded trail. It was such rocky terrain that mud wasnt really a problem even with my tiny radials on. Joe went first with the Super Duty and checked the depths of any puddles, 2-3 feet in some areas.

Cool. Looks like fun. I wish I knew places like that around here. It would be great to wheel out and camp.

The weather really was shitty in the mtns this last weekend. We got poured on drving to Georgetown. Looks like fun, man

just dont get caught camping without enough beer. We ran out so my friends ran back to Idaho Springs, about ten p.m. Didnt get back untill about 12:30 with a 12pack of Milwuakees worst:bad:3.2 by the way:bad:. That they ended up driving to evergreen for because no one in town was open.

looks like fun man, you got 4wd or 2?

4x4, working on piecing together stuff for a 8.8 swap, 4.56s, single piece drive shaft, and a 6" lift.
Ive got the axle, lift and driveshaft but I have lots of mods to do before I can start bolting things on. (brake lines, skid plate, frame crossmember, and those all of those lovely rivets to cut.)
So Ive got work to do.

but all that work will be worth it
looks like a killer trip

dude i missed this thread, looks like fun, when ur done we should get a few of us together to camp and wheel:derisive:
