Cam selection

5.0 that are 1.7:1 ratio not stock. uh... is that enough for you or need more air?
Your truck will breath a lot easyer and rev up much more faster. And if You can adapt a TB from a 3.0 Escape it will breath even more...

is what Betomonroy is trying to say is you will get more valve lift. to figure out your max valve lift take Rocker Ratio X Lobe Lift of the Cam.

Example
Cam lift .200 and RR 1.6> .200X1.6=.320 Max Valve lift
now a 1.7RR X .200=.340 Max Valve Lift

See how you have twenty thousanths more lift???
(im not sure what the cam spec is, i just used .200 for an Example)

Here is another link to that article i posted earlier except this one has the cam selection chart on it. http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Article/2179/rebuilding_the_ford_30l_v6.aspx
Yes Later down the road because again the truck went down on me. Changed out the worthless Aretex fuel pump for the bosch and the fuel injectors and rail due to nasty rough starts. Got her all put back together and 4 hrs later come to find out why the truck wouldn't start, the TFI module on the fire wall is toast. Im geting random weak spark and no spark. The TFI on the core support is quite warm.....
