So, I fixed my Eldorado to the point where The car runs, but now I have a new problem. When the car is set to the on position, whether it's started or not, gas pools out, like a leaky water hose.

Seems to me it's from the top of the tank, which also where the fuel pump lies.

I'm getting the idea that it could be a gasket, but I cannot be sure. I want to check it, but I'm not feeling like dropping the tank.

So does anyone know, or ever have, cut an access panel on a car, and could you give me advice on how to do it?

Well....cutting steel usually involves sparks. Don't think it would be wise to cut anything over a leaking gas tank.

Just pull the box off and run it without the box till you figure it out...it's not that hard to do and allows easy access to the fuel tank...

I've seen some access panels cut into the box though...also not hard to do...but, again, pull the box off first...nothing like launching your truck into low orbit trying to fix it...lol

Ummm....read the title of the thread? Lol

LOL...I was just coming back to edit that because I did see that...

I don't know what I was thinking...I just finished reading about a leak on another vehicle so probably stuck in low orbit myself...

But you can remove the body of an old El Dorado too...just bolt the seats back on and drive it like that for a few days...:)

Well it IS A ranger forum so one could easily assume...lol
