1988 Cadillac Brougham

Hey now.. blame Rochester lol.

I never knew so many hoses could fit under one hood lol

That’s how my Ranger was. I filled a gallon bag with hoses, lines and connectors, then stuffed the wires in the box the “computer” is in on the passenger fender. One day I plan to gut it and then I can store some spare power steering and brake fluid there!

The best cure for a quadrajunk is a holley 600 & a adaptor plate. Swap out that rear axle too, It probably has some rediculous high ratio like 2.73’s , put a 4.10 in it or at least 3.73’s.

I know the guy I used to work with here was big on 3.73s in his Monte Carlos. The last one he had had ported and polished heads with a cam in it among other things. We called it Red Death.

Hey now.. blame the govt lol.

FIFY

Ford did the same crap to the 2150. The worst of both EFI and carb with the advantages of neither.

Nothing wrong with a good Floodrajet. :icon_thumby:

I could've bought a red Cadillac two door convertible with white leather seats in 1972 for $300.
I was working with by brother and some uncles in N Dallas town-home developments and some guy on the crew showed up one day wanting to get rid of it, him and his wife was splitting up or something
I passed it up but it was tempting to a soon to be senior at school ;)

It might even have 2.43's lol. With the OD trans they definitely should of all came with 3.73s though.. 3.55s at least..

Haha.. floodrajet, quadrajunk.. good stuff. Quadra-bog is the popular term up this way lol.

My buddy has a Monte with 3.73s and a 3 speed with a shift kit.. mild build 350.. for how mild everything is it's crazy how sideways it'll step out if you hit 2nd or 3rd gear while in it a decent amount.

All the kids with caddys in high school ended up having kids.. while still in high school 😋 you might've dodged a bullet there lol

Everytime I see this Thread, This hook comes to mind, feel free to sing along if you know the words -

"B Girls" by Young & Restless

"B" stands for:
Broncos, Benz, BMW, bass, bangles and a pair of bars
When you see us pulling up down the Ave
You'll act like we are stars

We're not tryin' to make a joke
We're just tryin' to make it known
That people of the world that we call "B" girls
Like bars on a Cadillac Brougham.

glossary - Bars on a Cadillac Brougham - Bars means the chrome spoked wheels that where on Cadillac Broughams back then, it was before Daytons started hittin'.

Made some decent progress 'cleaning' this damn thing up over the last week or so. Even got wild enough to run a new fuel line & filter from the pump lol.

All the computer controlled carb & air injection nonsense has been removed and tossed in the trunk. I have a bit more fiddling with wires to do.. mostly getting them all pulled back through the firewall and removing them along with the computer.
