So.... I installed new rear cab to frame brackets and poly bushings all the way around. Now I cant get the damn cab evenly spaced on either side with the bed. The gap between the bed and the cab is around 3/4" on the pass. side and 1 1/2 - 1 1/4 on the drivers side. Try as I might I can not get the cab to pivot with all mounts loose. both me and my brother in law and the help of two rolling floor jacks couldn't do it.

I'm at whits end. the new brackets are definitely installed correctly as they came to me. They are nice and flush with the bottom of the cab and in the correct mounting points on each side.

I just don't get it.
Is there anything special I should have put on the new poly bushings ?

I was able to get ALL the old centering sleeves, washers, bolts and nuts out just fine for reuse. I am fairly positive they are centering the new bushings in the proper location as the old bushings. This is frustrating.

i know youve already tried loosening everything up but thats all you can really do. just give her hell and dont stop till you feel like its moved some

I thought I had posted a reply to you ...must have been the Ambien.
Loosen the bed bolts, run a string line from the tail light down the side to the front marker light.
when the string planes down the side bolt it up and have a beer.

Its not the side to side thats off. Its the gap between the bed and cab.
One side is a little bigger gap then the other. The cab is just about flush with the sides of the bed on each side though.

my cab and bed are like that too, theres a larger gap on the passenger side than on the drivers side, but its because the bed rail got bent when a tree branch fell on it. i pulled the dent back out but the force and weight of the tree pulled the front edge of the bed back just far enough to make a visible difference in the gap, but not enough to distort the whole bed side. its a truck so i just said Fawk it, make it straight and tighten it down.

I wish I could but the machinist in me wont let me. I swear its like an OCD. I see some thing miss aligned and I have to fix it LOL !
