Burning Oil in Rear Cylinders

Hello, I have a 98 4.0 ohv with 142xxx miles that is using oil very fast, like a quart per tank. (no smoke, no leaks that I can find). It blackens the rear two plugs alot, the middle two somewhat, and the front two are perfectly clean. That to me seemed like an intake gasket issue, so I tore the top end down and did an intake gasket, fuel rail gasket, top manifold gaskets, and valve covers. Also replaced PCV. Well, it's still using oil. It doesn't seem like a valve guide issue since its so consistent from back to front, that is usually more on 1 or 2 random cylinders. Also, rings are usually on 1 or all cylinders, depending on if one is broke, or if they are worn. What would cause oil to be consumed in the rear cylinders but not the front?
