Probably none whats so ever over oem even if it was possible. I believe the 2.9 are sequential injected "a injector for each piston" which is much more effective than this batch injection. Also this was done to improve drivability which it has done majorly, despite the little issues.
Well i was wondering if there was some sort of performace upgrade here because wouldnt it of been easier to just put a 3.8 tbi on it? Or am i just a lost puppy looking for a home?
the 3.8 is 35% larger than a 2.8, and its fuel curves reflect that. The 3.8 does not have the idle air control integrated into the throttle body so a person needs to jury rig the IAC into the intake somewhere.....the list goes on
nobody has successfully installed a 3.8 tbi onto a 2.8 (without it running black-smoke rich), but I have successfully installed a gm 2.8tbi onto a ford tbi twice now
