New tools you've bought recently?

Picked up a couple soft shackles yesterday from Tractor Supply. Had to order them as a “ship to store” because the stores have usually none and sometimes one soft shackle in stock.

I found some (I think) 9500lb rated ones at Menard's for $12.

We don’t have Menards local.

These, if I mind right, are 22k working strength and 50k break and were $25

for when it absolutely positively has to be done half assed backwards. :icon_thumby:

When left handed bits work, it's fantastic! I've had decent luck with the ones from Harbor Freight but as with their stuff some are great and some suck so whatever... there's a reason I have 3 kits... for $8 each on sale I think it was easy enough...

I bought the Pro BLower and extra kit from Griot's. It also came with the swivel. Was $45.00. Seems pretty good so far.

I'm a sucker for Harbor Freight sidewalk sales and clearance, for sidewalk sales they bring in more open box stuff at steep discounts... Got a compact air die grinder for $10 (their McGraw version so a step up) and a 5AH bauer battery for $35 and grabbed a couple extra magnet strips, a clearance $1 6" buffing wheel and clearance flap discs...

Edit, was McGraw not Cheif, whatever...

Cheap valve spring compressor to do valvestem seals on a 4.7 Jeep engine.

I guess I should’ve waited to post until I’ve actually used it. I’ll be older and wise enough soon.

So anyway I’ll rate this tool at do not buy. But honestly, if you need to replace the valve stem seal on a 3.7 or 4.7 Jeep engine just sell that junk.

First time I went to use it on an intake valve the head of it where the ratchet sticks in hits the fuel rail before any reasonable amount of compression can commence. Plenty of clearance for the exhaust valves.

Likely a casualty of design by math and theory alone, instead of we should probably make sure this thing works before we produce them.

I hacked up a piece of three-quarter inch pipe nipple made a longer piece which messed with the geometry so you gotta be extra careful to keep things lined up.

I bet the delivery guy loved that. We have a similar size calibrated flat surface at work. Listed weight: 485 lbs.

getting it to my car was a lesson for both grandsons on how to improvise.
placed it on a snow shovel and drug it downhill over the grass to the car.
then the 3 of us lifted it into the car.

it's 18x12x3
