Buddy's Truck, More performance.

They may work but he does realise that it's going to cost more than $300 right?

IIRC the 2001 ranger is an SOHC meaning it will have one cam in each head. He'll also have to have lifters and all of the respective gaskets. Not to mention what ever other work is needed once he opens it up.

Yeah. Thats why I edited it.

I thought it was a 2001 but he says its an 2000. I told him to check the manufacturers date on the door. He was just going to use the card for 100$ off if it went over BTW.

If its 2000 then the cam looks good but if its an 2001 then I guess he can't get anything really... I can't find anything that would even remotely add performance... Which is why I hate autozone. But thats beside the fact.

Thanks for your help :)

I think with the SOHC there's currently now much if an aftermarket for it. I know of one place that offers some stuff, they have to get it from somewhere but I don't know where.

Where are you guys?

Where are the "old farts" that want to talk about buying horsepower at Autozone? Are you guys asleep?

Hey if it was me, I'd tell my parents to get me a gift card for jegs or some other place.

I'm just curious if anyone knows anything decent he can buy...

I'd suggest putting the $100 towards a set of headers that don't require taking the engine apart to install it.

or, u can always ask them for there performance second source catalogs, all autoparts stores have them, normally there for commercial customers but theres nothing against them sellin those parts to a regualre joe, but i can get anyhting i ever want next day that way at the local advance auto

He was going to do that, but they don't sell any decent headers and he doesn't have lots of extra money to add to that 100$.

I was thinking of just doing a seafoam, new plugs, decent oil. And he can use the rest for whatever... The only reason I say that is because thats all I can think of to buy. He already has a KN filter (not a CAI) so there's not much else choice that comes to my mind.
