OK, so im not sure if this is only me but my truck is ****ing horrible over the smallest bumps.. Lets say im on a road they are resurfacing.. that little 2" transition going 5mph or less sends my front end way high up. My friend also noted that my truck takes speed bumps worse than anything hes ever been in before.. I have a RC leveling kit with out 30k on it and rancho shocks all the way around with the same mileage. Is this just a ranger thing or are my shocks/springs not soft enough?

Ranchos suck get better shocks /thread

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

Could be the shocks or any worn out springs but really, these guys ride pretty rough. I found that my 87 rides as rough as my brother in laws 94 and my friends 2001.

not trying to be mean but what would the body mounts have to so with it?

yep, it rides like a truck :p

any worn or loose suspension component or bushing will make the ride even worse, so check out all of the bushings underneath it. I found that after I replaced the spring hangers/ shackles and bushings on the rear of my 97, the ride is much smoother. still rides like a truck, but it isn't as jittery or jolting.

if the bushings or body mounts are worn, the parts that are normally cushioned by them are going to slam around more, and that will also give you a feeling of a rougher ride.

97ranger thank u for clearing that up i didnt know that would cause that

Rangers are heaven compared to older toyotas, i think on yotas they forgot to add a suspension in the design process and just went with it.

Last time I heard something having the spindles and axles bolted to the frame was on that go-kart as an eight year old kid.

That isn't including lawnmowers, though; every time I hit a rock in one of those, the neighbors run for cover...

"way up high"? Does that mean "like a brick hitting a speedbump & jarring up" ?

or does it mean "like a vehicle with NO shocks hitting a speedbump & bouncing 2 feet into the air"?

My '89 rode like a brick until I put adjustable air-shocks on thee front end...now it rides like a Lincoln (unless I air em up too much...then---brick)

Less stuff to break or fail :icon_thumby:

Had a broken shackle on mine...truck rode like a see saw...much better since that was repaired...

My springs are fine and so are my shocks. I only have stock blocks in the rear. found out its my god damn core support. i dont have any body mounts up front.. so everytime i hit a bump its like a newton ball if you would. and i took out the front sway bar
