Hey all. I just replaced the fuel tank, pump and sending unit on my 1990 Bronco ii and can't seem to get it running again. Before replacing the tank and all that I did a full tune-up and replaced the map sensor and tps. I made sure everything was square and the truck was running well before dropping the tank. Although I've replaced tanks and pumps before, this is my first time doing it on a Bronco so I want to make sure I didn't miss something. I've already checked that the pump is turning on, the relay is fine, as is the inertia switch. The only thing I can think of at this point is that maybe I got a bad sending unit. Any insight you can provide would be appreciated.

Did you check for gas? Next check for fuel pressure.

There's some fuel at the valve but no pressure

Sending unit is just for fuel level and can't effect engine running.

Spray some gas or Quick Start(ether) into the intake, then try to start the engine.
If engine starts and then dies, yes fuel is the problem
If it still doesn't start then spark is the problem
50/50 test

Could you have pinched the hose at the tank?
So pump is working but hose is kinked

Cycle key on and off 4 times then try to start engine.

Thanks, I will try that tomorrow

Just throwing this out there, make sure it isn't running backwards. My aging memory is recalling a fuel pump being wired backwards and running in reverse. I can't remember if that was on a BII.

Spark is good. Will fire up for a second with starting fluid. No pinched/kinked lines either. Anything else you can thing to check before I swap out the pump again?

Sounds like you got a junk pump.

I put 4 pumps in until I got a good one.

I went with a Delphi pump
