Bronco II 2WD Transmission Swap

Owner of 1989 Bronco II with 2WD TK code transmission needs detailed info on swapping transmission to the appropriate Ranger 5 speed.

Does it have the dummy case? The ranger used the same parts as the B2. Except on the 2wd B2's. They used a 4wd transmission with a dummy tcase. So you would need the tranny from a 4wd ranger in that case. Check out the tech library for more information on transmiision id.

This is true, you'll need a 4wd Trans if your BII has the dummy transfercase.

Now, you could get a regular 2wd Ranger trans and install it, but you would have to figure out a rear drivehsaft as the you have will likely be a tad too short.
